FULLVIEW, me hearties!!

Hmm, well apparently DA isn't wonky anymore. Eeeexcellent.

Okay, don't bash me for the title. I'm aware it's a band, and I really tried to come up with something else, but I kept coming back to this. It just... fits.

Commission of Ivy from Soul Calibur III. In this piece, she's basically just killed her father, Cervantes. In addition, she took Soul Calibur from him, which merged with her weapon, and now she's... um... going out to sea? YARR!! :pirate:

I think I'm getting better at backgrounds, or at least faster. At least I'm not hating drawing them as much.

Wonderful job on the detailing of the wood and the water. I love the pose, and the coloring is so pretty. Great shading. I love her face, too. Ivy is so hot. <3

I think it's interesting how lovely the scene is, yet she just got done killing someone. I didn't really think about it until after I was done with it. Heh.

Thanks very much for commenting! :)

know what i actually like best about this picture? how you didnt cop out on the BG. you actually made a full, well done background, which the character is actually interacting with. its always kind of annoying when you see a nice pic, but they put no effort in the background. awesome job!

Well, I used to associate doing backgrounds with pulling teeth, but I've done so many of them recently that I'm actually starting to like 'em. I hope it stays that way, because I really need to get better with my angles and perspectives.

Thanks very much for the comment. I like how you told me WHY you like it. I don't get enough of those!

i always put alot of effort into BGs, i think that without a good one that a pic isnt as interesting/complete.
now, ive just gotta actually get GOOD at it;p

lol i know what you mean;p. it bugs me when people just say "cool" and thats all. its like a waste of time. the worst is people who fav and dont comment, or only say "cool". i actually got mad at someone who did that to me and got in an argument with them. a fav is supposed to be something special, if its not special engouh that you wanna make a comment on it explaining why you like it, then it doesnt deserve a fav.
but ive gotten TOTALY off topic here. next time i start to rant, kick me in the balls ;p
