I spent about 2 1/2 days over the '05 Thanksgiving holiday weekend sawing, cutting, grinding, wiring, and riveting this mofo, and I think the end result more than makes up for the frustration I went through. There are a few nicks here and there where my dremel bit skipped, but I don't care. It's... "battle damage"!
Also, there's a hidden button in the pommel (not pictured). That turns on the LED's on the side (red and yellow). I think I screwed up the wiring inside, though, because while the yellow light stays on, the red light is supposed to be activated by pressing the black button on top. However, the red light blinks instead, and the black button seems to do nothing.
Whatever, I say it's not bad for my first time doing any wiring or power tooling.
This was made following the instructions for design VIII on the Big Yellow Box site. I'm currently in the process now of creating a new one of my own design as a gift for my cousin, and this one will have an LED blade and (hopefully) a sound module.
what did you use as the bottom part of the handle?
I dont care how many things you screwed up, its still a looker.
very nicely done
